Ramirez Lawn Service

Services

Everything we do —in plain English.

We’ll quote any of these on-site. The price you get is the price you pay — no surprise add-ons, no upsells.

  • Weekly, Bi-weekly & Monthly Maintenance

Pick a cadence — weekly through the monsoon, bi-weekly the rest of the year, or monthly for low-water yards. Same crew, same morning.

Most Valley yards do best on a bi-weekly schedule from October through April and weekly once the monsoon hits and the Bermuda runs. We adjust the cadence and the cut height by season so the lawn keeps moisture in July and never gets scalped after a rain. Visit covers mow, edge, string-trim, and a full blower pass on walks and the drive before we pull off.

  • Grass Mowing

Sharp blades, clean stripes, the cut height adjusted for Bermuda in summer and ryegrass in winter — front, back, and side yards.

Bermuda gets a tighter cut from May through September; winter overseed gets a longer cut so it shades its own crown. We sharpen blades on a routine, mulch-cut by default, and bag if you want a cleaner look or have a kid with grass allergies. One-time cuts welcome — we just prefer to be on a schedule so the yard never gets out of hand.

  • Palm Tree Trimming

Skirts pulled, fronds cleaned up, seed pods removed before they drop. Date palms, queen palms, Mexican fans — done in season so the tree does not get stressed.

We trim palms between late spring and early summer when the heart of the tree is least vulnerable, and we never over-prune ("hurricane cut") because that weakens the trunk. Skirts pulled to a tidy taper, dead fronds and seed pods bagged, debris hauled. We are insured for tree work up to standard residential heights; bigger ornamentals we hand off to a tree partner rather than fake the height we have ladders for.

  • Irrigation Repair & Drip Tune-Up

Broken heads, cracked drip lines, a controller you can never figure out — we fix the visible stuff and we walk every zone with you.

Phoenix yards run on drip more than spray, and drip is where most water gets lost. We pressure-check every zone, replace cracked emitters, find and patch the buried line that is wetting the wrong spot, and program the controller for the season — including a printed schedule for you to keep on the panel. Spring start-ups, summer tune-ups, and a full check before your snowbird tenants arrive.

  • Winter Rye Overseeding

October overseed — scalp the Bermuda, lay down annual ryegrass, water it in. A green winter lawn while the rest of the block goes brown.

We scalp the Bermuda in early-to-mid October once nights are cool, top-dress, broadcast perennial or annual rye depending on what you want next April, and water in twice a day for the first ten days. You get a printed watering chart and a follow-up visit at week three to top-seed any thin spots.

  • Fertilization

Pre-emergent in fall and spring, slow-release nitrogen on a Sonoran schedule — not the bag-back northern-grass calendar.

Bermuda wants nitrogen in the heat and a pre-emergent before the monsoon weed flush. Winter rye wants a starter fert at overseed and a slow-release follow-up in December. We track which yard is on which schedule and apply at the right rate — never the "max coverage" the bag suggests, because that just runs off in the next summer storm.

  • Yard Hauling & Cleanup

Dumped dirt pile by the side gate, palm fronds from a windstorm, a tenant left a yard full of bags — gone in one trip.

We bring the trailer, load it ourselves, and dump it at the green-waste transfer station — never a residential bin and never an arroyo. Common jobs: post-monsoon palm-frond clearance, tenant-turnover yard reset, gravel rake-out before a hardscape job, and the random pile someone left.

  • Landscaping & Bed Maintenance

Granite refresh, weed pull on decomposed-granite (DG) beds, prune ocotillo and brittlebush, replace dead succulents — keep the desert side of the yard tidy.

Most Valley yards are half lawn, half DG / cactus garden. We pull weeds out of granite by hand (pre-emergent in spring beats spraying glyphosate near edibles), refresh the granite top-up every couple years, and prune native shrubs at the right time — ocotillo after bloom, brittlebush after summer, and creosote almost never. Replacement of failed agave or barrel cactus included if you want it.

Most weekly customers add cleanups, mulch, and the odd hardscape job — there’s usually a flat-rate way to handle that.
